Some guy had mentioned that perhaps Skype is causing the usage of Wifi so I uninstalled it and I left Wifi enabled (bluetooth is off cause it is useless and broken)

I have a ipod touch 2nd gen, 8GB, 128 MB RAM.
I didn't even use Skype.

SOLVED!

PS : I have yahoo messenger and I use it. No problem with this. Not sure what the deal with Skype is.

Skype drains battery, but wifi alone does drain battery too. I have no skype and if I left wifi ON when locked, battery drains extremely fast. Wifi set on OFF and iPod can stay alive for a really long time. So too me wifi is the one to blame.

I spoke too soon. Looks like it was ok for a couple of days, then I signed into yahoo messenger, and battery drain problem is back.
I will test some more.

Perhaps you have some other app that is using the Wifi?
I can imagine that the ipod looks for signal so the OS could be the problem.
