I have an iphone 3G and just recently it has started shutting down and will only restart after i plug it in and it resets itself to 1st January 2000. Could this be the battery giving up or a hardware fault? Thanks

Im not sure if it was intentional or not Miles but that was just a link to google

The link to Google is my signature. It appears in every post I make. You have not provided enough information as to the source of your problem, and it could be either a dying battery or a hardware failure. When my battery dies the date doesn't reset, suggesting something else is going wrong... but who knows?

Oh I see, sorry bout that. Well i`ll try a new battery first and if that doesnt work then its going in the bin.
