Hi,

I have the mid 2009 MacBook and I now have the service battery icon. I took it to KRCS and they told me I needed a new one as it is 'all red.' I have no idea what they meant but they tried to charge me £101 for a new one. It's only done 174 cycles and I never had the problem before I sent it to them to get repaired and the bloke had to practically rip it out before sending it off.

Is it something they did or do I just need to get a new one? If that is the case does anyone know of where I can get them for a lot less than £101? (poor student and all that).

Any more info you need just ask.

Thanks :)
