Hello
I recently purchased an open box 13 inch MBP from John Lewis, a department store int he UK. I got 35% off the refurb price because it was missing the charger. Normally i never go For these because if I buy refurb i’d much much rather purchase it from Apple. So therefore it was 700£ instead of 1100 (refurb price).
JL has a two year warranty and i have separate accidental insurance through my credit card so i thought it’s ok. I wanted to replace my intel MBA which is not old, but the battery frustrates me. I am happy with the MBP M1 battery. However, i noted, because its an open box item, that the battery isn’t amazing but I figured over a year it would age. The battery has had 20 cycles but has a maximum capacity (As per apple) of 94%. The machine was built in oct 2020. Coconut battery says it’s at 92.2%. For reference my 2 year old MBA is at 89%.
my question is, do I have a dodgy battery? I don’t want to keep the machine even at this price if it is. So I’m wondering if it should just go back!
thanks!
