Hey guys,
so I'm really new to this whole macbook thing, I've used a PC all my life, but i needed a mac for school so here I am.
I got my mac about maybe a month or two ago and i use it everyday, cause I need it for school and my other computer is pretty much broken. it used to hold a charge for at least 7 hours, but now it barley makes its it 3 hours, and it gets really annoying because there arent enough plugs at my school to be plugging it in every chance i get...
i have the brightness down as much as it can go without the screen going black, the keyboard brightness is off, and it sleeps after 15 mins or something, and screen goes off within like 3.
so can anyone tell me why it's doing this and how to fix it?
thank you! Xx

Have a look at Activity Monitor (Applications / Utilities /) and select All Processes and sort by CPU to see what the culprit may be.

image below uses sorting by CPU as an example

Regarding your thread title, which is really non-descript:

Is your battery calibrated properly?
How many cycles does it have on it?
What is your battery health?
What apps/widgets/processes do you have running?

How do I get help with a hardware or software problem?
Thread title. Use a thread title that indicates the subject of the thread, not a generic title such as "Need help", so that people who might know the answer will read your thread.

Read the Battery FAQ I posted. The steps to calibration are included in that. Also, you may want to install iStat Pro to track your battery stats. The link to that is in the FAQ as well.
