Battery question

Help, I forgot to remove the battery before installing new memory without removing the battery first, what damage have I done! It's a 17in, mid-2010 Macbook Pro.

You're fine. Why would you need to remove the battery?

You don't need to remove the battery when you replace RAM.

UPDATE: Never mind, it's ok, I didn't have one of the sticks in all the way. Thanks so much for all your help!!

Ok, I didn't think so, but then I read that on the Apple site. - "You will need to remove the battery before installing additional memory and reinstall the battery after installing the memory."

Then can you please tell me why it just beeps when I start it up? Do you think the ram isn't seated properly?
