battery question

i know this may seem like a dumb question...but i just got my iphone...and i have jailbroken it and everything is working fine...but just a quick question...how do i check the battery status...like is there something i need to install to get the percentage of battery life left?? or simply just look in the top right corner and thats all there is?? thanks

top right corner is all there is.

in settings -> usage there is a breakdown of how long its been on/how long you've been using it, but no other battery indicator.

Oddly my usage counter for today is increasing despite me not using the iPhone. I checked because the battery level indicator was reducing rapidly in comparison to normal. I've turned the phone off and on yet the usage is still increasing even while the iPhone is in standby. Any ideas?

Standby = on.

Hold button on top for a few seconds to bring up the slider to turn off the phone.

Are you running music in the background?
