How long should it take to recharge a macbook battery?

It seems like it takes forever.

My old powerbook went from 0% to 100% in a couple of hours.

The macbook seems extremely slow in comparison.

Five hours plus it seems.

Is this right?

according to the apple literature on batteries, it should be pretty quick to charge to 80%, and then will "trickle charge" the last 20%.

you didn't say if your MB was sleeping/off or in use - i've found that makes a huge difference

guys r u keeping ur macs all the time plugged in the electricity network or draining up the till empty is actually useful once in a while ?

so far 4 hours and it's at 92%

I've let the macbook sleep while it recharges.... so that means it will take a lot longer if I'm actually using it.

that's a long time....

it has taken my new macbook battery 5+ hours to charge. macbook it turned off while charging (magsafe light turns green when charged). seems ghetto since it takes longer to charge than it does to completely drain.
