Just as a reminder check your battery health on your Apple Watch if you have active AppleCare.

On the watch go to Settings, Battery, Battery Health. If it’s less than 80% health you will see “Service Recommended”. If it says that you can make an appointment at the Apple store or mail your watch for battery replacement.

I could’ve had the battery replaced on my Series 4 but didn’t bother to check before AppleCare expired. I decided to check on my Series 6 and it also needs replaced. Luckily my AppleCare is still good for it till December so I’m taking it in for battery replacement.

Outside of AppleCare it’s $79 in the USA so you can make that determination if it’s worth it for you. I’m not going to do it for my Series 4 because it’s just my work watch and in rough shape

Thanks for the reminder. Also, remember that if it's close to 80%, you can extend your apple care on a month to month basis. And then keep it until you need a replacement.

I was curious about this too. My launch day series 6 is sitting at 83% and they wouldn’t replace it.

Today, I was pretty surprised to find out my watch 7, not even a year old, is standing at 86%. I don't really leave the watch on the charger for long, so I thought there won't be much degradation. Anyways, I think Apple will sneakily make sure it does not drop below 80% in two years (until the apple care plus expiration).
