Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had a good , reasonably prices source for a batter for my '06 MBP. I bought one a few years ago and not long after it swelled up and went bad . Any help would be great . Thanks

look over at other world computing, they might have a bit of a higher price than one off of ebay or amazon, but from reviews and raves i have read off the site and even here they appear to be good quality, myself i have never bought a battery from them.

I wouldn't trust or recommend any non-Apple battery, due to the number of problems reported with "knockoff" batteries. Also, there is no assurance that knockoff batteries have the same charging technology that Apple uses, involving the battery, the MagSafe adapter and the Mac's logic board.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.
