Battery life on my 13 PM has been so so. There are good days and bad days. I keep noticing a lot of screen off time in the month that I’ve had my phone. It seems to be different culprits each time. This time it was the Tips app which I hadn’t used. See screenshot that shows a whopping 11+ hours in the background. I swiped up to look at the open apps and it wasn’t there. How do you stop something from running on end in the background if it doesn’t even come up as an open process? I then opened the app, closed it, then swiped up to quit the app altogether. It still continued to run on end in the background. I finally deleted the app and that stopped it. I don’t use the app so not a problem to have deleted it, but frustrating that I keep getting random apps that seem to get stuck running in the background and eating up my battery. I’m a light user, but will keep this phone a couple of years so interested in preserving battery life. Anyone else seeing this sort of behavior?

Could it possibly be triggered by having a widget pull data from that tips app?

It seems in iOS 15, there are a few built-in apps that seem to run wild, or at least iOS Battery reports them as running wild. News, Home, Find My, Tips.

I would also add Music and Maps into that list. My Music app runs in the background all day without me playing music or events opening the app.

I have turned off Find My but i still see it running in the background. On 14.8 i turned it off in 3 places and it stoped. Now on 15 same settings but now find my is showing up as background process again. Any idea how to turn it off completely ??
