I'm using my original SE. Has anyone have this happen to them: charge the phone to full, leave it overnight and battery drops to 70%, wait a few hours drops to 35%, few more hours and drops to 1% and then stays like that for several days?

Charged it on Sunday, now on 1% since Monday (now Wednesday evening here). It's working fine by the way.

That battery is in a messed up state. You shouldn’t continue to use it just for safety reasons alone. I recommend a hard reset, if that doesn’t fix it then get it replaced ASAP.

I recently wiped the phone when I got the new SE (since returned). I just assumed the battery needed calibrating or something. Is it really dangerous?

Lithium ion batteries don’t need calibration. Malfunctioning battery is dangerous.

Thanks, it's now back to normal. Let it die and left it for a couple of hours and then did a full charge.

I’ve been having this same problem. Quickly drains to 1% but then continues to work for hours. Recalibration hasn’t seemed to fix it.

Have you updated the software recently?
I'm not sure when the problem started (over a month, I think). I've kept my phone up-to-date on OS and app updates. Many of the searches I've done on this issue suggest a bad battery (FWIW, according to my Settings, my battery health reports a Maximum Capacity of 91%.

I did find a couple of things online that I'm going to try:

1) One of the suggestions here is to go into Settings / General / Date & Time and toggle the "Set Automatically" (possibly multiple times, and possibly also change the Time Zone and then back again):
.

2) One person here reports that their "Peak Performance Capability" reported that their "iPhone has experienced an unexpected shutdown..." and that an Apple chat rep suggested that they tap the "Disable" link and that it seemed to fix their issue.

3) It's also been recommended to reset the device to factory settings and set up the phone as new (don't restore from a backup). Normally, that's what I always do with a new phone, but this older SE of mine was actually a replacement to another older SE (less storage space), so it's likely that I may have originally set this one up from a backup.

I think it started to happen to my phone after trying out the new SE. I transferred everything to the new phone and then erased and reset the old SE. Before returning the new SE, I transferred all my stuff back to the reset original SE. Then I got this battery issue.

Battery still appears to be discharging normally.

I have a max capacity of 88%. I've had unexpected shutdowns before without causing any problems.

Hope you can get yours working as it should.
