I just purchased a brand spankin' new 2.6 GHz 15.4" MacBook Pro and it got here last Monday, so the machine is less than a week old. However, the battery WILL NOT COME OUT! I was able to get it to pop out once, but since then, no dice, and I know I didn't put it back in incorrectly; there's no possible way to do that!
AppleCare says it's a mechanical problem with the latch and wants me to either drive two hours to the "closest" Apple Store or mail it in and wait SIX days! I need this thing for classes, or otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it...
Basically, when I pull the latches back, the battery only rises about three millimeters on the left and none on the right. Also, when the latches snap back, the left latch only goes back about 7/8ths of the way until you press gently on the battery.
Ideas to get this out? I really just wanted to install my 4 GB of Crucial RAM!
