I have a white macbook, the battery has 216 cycles on it and was lasting around 3hrs with 87% health. Then all the sudden today at about 65% battery life left the laptop goes to sleep. When I plugged it in it said in the menu bar "Service Battery", the health dropped to 30%. Did the battery just die? I've never had this happen. Also, I just installed snow leopard a few days ago, could that have anything to do with it?

Take a look at this link

Some people were discussing here a couple of days ago. Snow Leopard encourages Battery Servicing.

Ok, this must be a SL problem, I charged it up to 20%, unplugged it and the battery meter jumped up to 70% and battery health jumped from 30% to 83%, stayed there when I plugged it back in. No idea whats going on with it.
