I see all kinds of threads about the ASK not needing to be changed and how it works and pros and cons... but none mention anything related to increased battery usage during use of the ASK. Does it literally not affect battery drain on the IPP's? or does it make some difference to those who use the Keyboard all day?

I am considering buying the Smart Keyboard. I already have an older (and excellent) little Bluetooth Keyboard by apple. I can change batteries in it opposed to charging (which seems to be almost everyone's complaint about Bluetooth keyboards, if they have a complaint). I don't mind charging one either, but that's not really my question.

Just curious how battery drain is affected... Thanks for any input.

In general, keyboards use very little power unless they have a backlight. For example, my Apple Magic Keyboard lasts for about 4-6 months on a single charge. So while the ASK does use power from the iPad, it probably makes a 1-2% difference in battery life at most. I wouldn’t worry about it.
