Just about to upgrade from my Airpods Pro (2nd Gen) and when comparing between the two on Apple website

I noticed the battery on the new APP3 is worse than the previous... is this a mistake?

That's due to the case having less battery.

The APP3's themselves are advertised to have more battery life than the APP2

they take some of the battery life away from the case and put it into the earphones themselves so i guess it balances out.

i'd rather have longer battery life when i'm actually listening to music than not. the battery of the case is really good in the Pro 2 so i won't miss 6 hours case charging.

I was just thinking about what this 24-hour period means. At the beginning, both the case and the AirPods are full. After eight hours of listening, you can charge them twice, and after the second charge, the case is empty. There's quite an imbalance between the case and the AirPods now.

But 8 hours is perfect. But, as I said before... I'm sure I can charge the case once within this 24-hour period.

I have *never* gotten 6 hours out of the 2s. I’d be stunned if the 3s hit 7h on a full charge or can even hold that time 6 months into their lifespan.

Dave2d got 8:41 w/ ANC on at a notch below 50%, and 4:06 on a used set of AP2 that did ~6 hours when new.

Aside from that, haven't seen anyone else do any testing, but that's a positive start.

Yeah, that would be a huge boost for me as I basically live in them. 4-5h may seem OK but it really isn't these days. Just short enough to be annoying.
