Hey guys,

I upgraded my MacBook Air to Sierra, and ever since my battery dies in 3 hours, which is ridiculous as before I had 11-12 hrs. In addition no matter what I do on my mac it heats up very quickly. It is especially hot on the left side. Also if I for example watch a movie online I can hear the fans spinning so loud, I never ever heard the fans before.

I called apple customer service they gave me some absolutely useless advices.

Is there a solution for this? Will apple fix the problem, or I just have to put up with this?

Thanks for the answers,

when did you upgrade?

If only just recently then it may still be indexing files.

Give it a few days and see if it returns.

my 2009 macbook has a longer runtime now that before but I had to wait 2-3 days for indexing to complete before I saw the runtime gain.

Also from memory (at least in the 1st Gen) the CPU is in rear left corner so that section will get warm.
