Battlefield 2142 on M1?

I have been bit by the nostalgia bug and would really love to install this Windows copy of Battlefield 2142 I have and play a little bit.

Curious if anyone knows if this will work in Crossover Mac or Parallels on an M1 Max machine before I waste any time trying to get it to run.

Battlefield 2142 a relatively old game, with DirectX 9.0c API, so it should be playable even on virtual machines I guess.

You can download the free trial of Crossover and Parallels and test for yourself. BF 2142 used to run very well on Crossover 14 but there are no test results after that.
