I recently purchased Battlefield 2142 and, although I have not had any of the problems that many other users have described, it runs a bit slow. I have a 17" Macbook Pro 2.33Ghz with the 256mb X1600. What would be the optimal settings to get it up to at least playable framerates? Also, is these any way to overclock my X1600? I have my 9800 Pro SE overclocked in my Powermac with Aticellerator, but this does not work with the newer video cards. I saw that AtiTools would work, but I do not have a copy of Windows to use and all my games are mac. Thanks.

I doubt you can OC it much.

I am assuming your under bootcamp here but this could work on the OSX version.

Set the res to something you can stand but lower than your native.

Turn off shadows AA to 2x, and set EVERYTHING bar EFFECTS and Textures to low, leave Effects and Textures to Medium.

Anything lower and it goes ugly, also you MUST keep the view length on 100% otherwise your target practice in the air vehicles.

If you have amazing FPS then, keep the textures on medium and edge up on effects, avoid shadows it gives you a tactical edge and all the regular players avoid them as well.

High textures you have no hope of with your card :apple:

Actually it is the Mac version. I've heard that most people have had a lot of problems with it, but it seems to run fine on my computer other than the speed issue.
