newest iMacs of today will be the second generation from 15th October.
Yes i believe you can run ultra settings on 27" imac 680MX on 1080p or High settings on native 1440p or from 15 October i think you can 1440p on Ultra if they come up with 780MX+Maveriks

Incredibly unlikely you will be able to play the game at 2560x1440 on "Ultra" on a 680MX. I would bet money against it.

High, with moderate use of SSAO, AA, draw distance, etc? Maybe. The game is next-gen and isn't out yet.

(anyone that says "yes" has zero idea)

He is talking about BF3 and not 4 !
I see improvements with at least 10% in games between Mountain Lion and Maveriks
So if you wait until late October and take the 780M with Maveriks the game experience will be 20% better than 680MX with Mountain Lion

My mistake.

I still don't think Ultra on BF3 will happen at 1440p.

Mavericks also means nothing because BF3 doesn't run on OS X.
