For those of you who can't wait to get your Battlestar Galactica fix (Season 3 starting on Oct. 6)... they started a series of web only short episodes today:

http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/

Some more info (from TV.com):

Sci Fi will air "Occupation" and "Precipice" back-to-back on October 6th. The story will not pick up immediately after the end of the Season Two finale. There will be another jump of a few months.

For more details on the events that take place during that time period, watch the Web series "Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance," which started on Tuesday, Sept. 5th. "The Resistance" continues on Thurs., Sept. 7th. New Webisodes will be available on Sci Fi.com every Tuesday and Thursday in September and the 1st week of October. The final Web installment will be available on Thurs., Oct. 5th, just one day before the Season Three premiere.

Note that Season Three episodes will air at 9 pm ET on Sci Fi, an hour earlier than in previous seasons.

So now I have two to-dos. First I have to make sure that BSG is high-enough on my priority list on my DVR that nothing clips either episode. Second I have to make sure to watch all these webisodes....

I wish the websides were podcasted....

I wonder when we'll see Season 3 in the UK?

BSG is a co-production between the UK's British Sky Broadcasting and the US Sci-Fi channel. Since Sky stumped up more cash, we got season 1 before the US. Then, for season 2, the US started first.

Is it our turn to get 3 earlier? ;)

I think Sky's just about to finish a re-run of Season 2, I wonder if 3 will start immediately after... I've got some sleuthing to do...

Let's see on Thursday if the first episodelet is still there -- if they're all 4 minutes long, by the time they've all been put up, they'll be the equivalent of an episode (~40 min). But it would probably be more fun to watch the whole thing at once. Perhaps I'll do both. :D
