For those who play Battletech, a major bug on computers with a M series processor, has been fixed.

In the past on escort missions, the game would get stuck waiting on the allies (being escorted) to move. This made the campaign game unplayable.

People looking at the game came to the conclusion that the problem was in the interface between the game and Rosetta 2.

The publisher had stopped working on the game a long time ago so there was no chance of getting a patch :(. They still passed the information to Apple.

I was reading how Apple usually updates Rosetta 2 as a part of a MacOS update (they don't document the changes though). I recently tried playing the game under Sequoia and was surprised that it ran correctly and very well.

You still can't touch the mouse after starting the game until the main screen comes up. If you do, the game starts requiring double mouse clicks to do anything.

The game also very randomly freezes up requiring you to quit and restart (rarely happens). This is an old bug that affected even Intel processors.
