Hi

I have just bought a Series 3 LTE. My aim was to play BBC Radio with my AirPods when on a dog walk without my iPhone.

Streaming Apple Music works fine as does the Apple Radio app but you can't get BBC UK radio stations on that.

The three radio apps I have that can get BBC, Radioplayer, TuneIn and myTuner seem to be just a remote control for their respective iPhone apps and the radio plays through the phone.

Am I missing a setting or is their a radio App that does it please?

So, 5 months on, and like you I am still waiting for a BBC radio capable radio app for the Apple Watch. We were so close, with the Apple Radio app now providing some stations from Tunein, but now the Beeb has pulled its stations from what service, we are back to square one.

It sounds similar to my problem with audiobooks. I can only put those purchased from Apple on to the watch, all my own are only able to be controlled by watch but played on the phone.

In 2019, to listen to a national BBC radio station outside the house (without my iPhone), I have to resort to using a portable DAB radio with wired headphones! I wanted just an Apple Watch and AirPods to do that job instead.
