I almost had an oops.

I did not realize that the front and back plastic were connected. I thought they were separate. Almost flipped my phone right out of my hand and into the floor.

LOL I thought you were going to say the plastic could scratch the screen or something. I could be wrong, but I think all iPhones come with one piece of plastic. It wraps from the front and around the bottom right?

Yes, seems to be the same as previous models.

You are wrong. Usually there are two separate films. One on the front and one on the back. I know this as I usually save the front one as a poor man's screen protector before I let my son use the phone.

I recall the 4S glass panels being two, and relatives saving the front one. It was often an issue for those leaving it on taking pics for one, and hearing the sound as well.

I was not expecting this new full wrap with the 1" strip connecting them.

Just hoping others take notice.

I can already see someone peeling it off so fast, and bam the phone does a double backflip on the way down. Ouch. Slow and easy it is.

This is why I always unpack new devices carefully and when I'm sitting at a table. Less chance of accidentally sending it airborne!

I bought a 5s a few days ago and it had 2 separate pieces of plastic :).

Like I said, I could be wrong. Not sure what I remember being one piece. Maybe it's the iPad thats one big piece??

thanks for posting this info it is very helpful to avoid having big issues.

I remember when I got my iPhone 4. I came home from work, activated and backed up from my 3G. I left the plastic liner on both sides because I was afraid to lay the glass on anything. Then my wife called on her way home. I'm like "Hello? What? HELLO? HELLO!!!" There was no cutout in the plastic for the ear speaker... Father-in-law did the same with his 5, called me on his landline to tell me his iPhone was junk.

iPads plastic is one big piece, but it has flaps that fold over and glue to the back, so you have to pull the flaps open first -- in other words, the moment you start peeling the flaps, you are aware you are dealing with a single piece of plastic. The plastic on iphone 6, you can start peeling without realizing that the back and front are connected at the top.

Ah thanks! I knew one of the Apple products comes with one piece of plastic. I haven't lost my mind just yet. :) Thanks for the advice, I'll probably open my iPhone 6 Plus on the bed to ensure no drops.
