Since COVID has made me essentially a permanent teleworker, I've begun having to take constant conference calls over MS Teams. Since Teams is cross-platform, I've been splitting my meetings between my iPhone/iPad with Airpods and a work laptop with Earpods plugged in. This has been OK since, with the nice weather outside, my family has been able to be outside and playing a lot. With the weather getting colder, I've had to contest with increasing noise levels so I wanted to switch it up to on/over ear headphones to mitigate some of that. While I have no feelings pro/con on the Beats name, what I really love is the auto-switching capabilities of my Airpods which is represented in the Solo Pro and the Studio3 (and yes, I am monitoring the AirPod Studios closely but I fear a crazy price...). My only issue is that with my work laptop, I'll have to have a corded option. Does anyone have experience plugging these into a Windows computer? Will I be able to use the microphones on them or will they just be for listening? I believe from my research that while the Studios have an aux port, to plug the Solo Pros in I'll need a lightning to aux cable? If I use a normal lighting cable would it perhaps just register as a digital USB headset? I've tried googling some of these questions and I mostly get people asking these questions prior to the release of the devices and not getting answers so I was wondering if anyone here had any first hand knowledge. Thanks!
(And I know when plugged into the computer the ANC won't work but I'm mostly interested in them being on/over ear and will deal with no ANC when using the work laptop)
