Following leaks earlier this month, Apple's Beats by Dre brand is today announcing three new colors of its popular Beats Fit Pro earphones: Tidal Blue, Volt Yellow, and Coral Pink. Originally launched in late 2021, Beats Fit Pro are an alternative to Apple's AirPods Pro which offer many of the same features such as active noise cancelation (ANC) and an H1 chip for Apple-specific features like "Hey Siri" and Find My support and automatic device switching, but in a more fitness-focused design.

As part of the refreshed color launch coming this Thursday, February 23, Beats is debuting a new "LOCK IN. WORK OUT." marketing campaign featuring singer/songwriter Chlöe Bailey and tennis player Frances Tiafoe.

Rather than the iconic stems of AirPods, Beats Fit Pro offer a lower-profile look that emphasizes an in-ear design but includes flexible wingtips on top for increased stability. With no stems for force sensors like on AirPods and AirPods Pro, Beats Fit Pro controls are on the main body of each earbud with essentially the entire outer surface of each bud being a clickable button with the "b" Beats logo on it.

The onboard buttons offer the standard set of audio controls, with a single press allowing for play/pause for audio or answer/hang up for phone calls. A double press skips forward to the next audio track, while a triple press skips backward.

Each earbud also supports a press-and-hold function that can be configured independently for each side, such as using one side to activate Siri if you don't wish to use the "Hey Siri" trigger phrase and the other side to cycle through listening modes (ANC, Transparency, and off). Alternatively the press-and-hold function can be used for onboard volume control with one bud raising the volume and the other lowering it.

Battery life for Beats Fit Pro checks in at around six hours with ANC or Transparency mode turned on and up to seven hours with those features turned off. The USB-C charging case lets you carry another 21 hours of battery life with you.

Overall, Beats Fit Pro have proven very popular with users, as many find the buds more comfortable to wear than AirPods Pro, especially when working out or otherwise being active, and they offer solid sound quality and ANC. Offered at the same $199.99 pricing as other colors, the three new Beats Fit Pro colors join the existing Stone Purple, Sage Gray, Beats White, and Beats Black options that were part of the original launch, as well as the neutral skin-tone Moon, Dune, and Earth colors launched last August in collaboration with Kim Kardashian. Orders placed through Apple can be personalized with free engraving on the charging case.

Nice colors. Really like the Blue. I actually might try going Beats Fit Pro next time to see if that fit method works better for me. Previous AirPods were pretty bad fit for me until the Pros which are just ok. Still fall out during workouts every other time or so (especially my left one and I've tried all different tips).

My exact situation. I’m a huge fan of the beats fit pro for any type of workout. Not quite as comfortable to wear in a less active situation so I have my 1st gen airpod pros for that.

I replaced my Airpods Pro with Beats Fit Pro precisely because APPs were falling out of my ears while exercising. BFPs fit great in my ears. Plus the USB-C.

Edit: I even tried APP2 when they came out, but returned them

Fit & Comfort:
1. BFP - both how secure they feel in my ears & comfort
2. APP2/APP1

Noise canceling:
1. APP2 - H2 shows
2. BFP - probably their construction helps
3. APP1

Carrying case:
1. APP2 - active FindMy, compact, wireless charging
2. APP1 - compact, wireless charging
3. BFP - USB-C

For casual use I'd go with APP2, but if you are active or you just like to walk/ride & listen, BFP.

BFP negs:
- no wireless charging
- case is bulkier than both APP cases
- APP1 get more firmware love from Apple than BFP despite both having H1 chip
- wind noise when it's really windy. Not an issue of ANC. BFP design has edges while APP1/2 do not

I saw the rumor last week about the new colors, but still got white ones on Saturday. I’ve had lots of in-ear headphones over the years (wired and wireless, including original Airpods and Pro) but these are the best my favorites of them all.

p.s. I LOVE the button controls. Much better (for me) than squeezing AirPod Pro stems. I was still able to control them wearing gloves when the Beats were covered by my knit cap.

The blue in the renders looks very different than the blue in the pictures. Shame as the blue in the renders looks really deep and rich, while the blue in the pictures looks a bit washed out.

$199 is a terrible deal when APP 2nd Gen come in at just $50 more.

All beats products are wildly overpriced by comparison to AirPods.

I really wish beats were more affordable or that features matched 1/1 with the latest AirPods, so that you could opt for “AirPods” with other colors than white and save a little money but get the overall same product.

These actually seem pretty comparable to AirPods Pro, but geared toward more active use. Or am I missing something?

I wish the case was wireless charging like APP. But I picked up a pair about 3 months ago and they work great

I actually prefer the BFP fit & feel over the APP1/2; less prone to being knocked around by the stem and breaking the audio seal; personally, I could never get the APP to fit "just right" and found myself constantly fiddling to get them to feel comfortable on any of the tips (and even trying 3rd party foam tips).

The one downside is that they can get a bit uncomfortable over a long period of time if you aren't used to having something in your ear canal.

I do like those blue ones (currently have a pair of white ones)...

Wishlist: smaller case & wireless charging (which will never happen); the current square case is a monstrosity.

Unless I was forced into buying new buds or headphones, I think I would rather wait for them to be forced into USB-C charge. If I was getting beats, I would also want MagSafe charging on the case.
