Apple's Beats brand today shared a new ad in its ongoing Pill People series, this time highlighting the various USB-C cables that Beats debuted earlier this week.

The Pill People ad campaign features anthropomorphized Beats Pill speakers with different personalities. Beats has been using the Pill People since it launched the updated Beats Pill last summer.

Apple's Beats brand is now offering several USB-C cables, including USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, and USB-C to Lightning. The cables come in 1.5-meter and 20-centimeter options, with both sizes priced at $18.99. The cables come in four colors, and they can be purchased from the online Apple Store or Apple retail stores.

cute ad but amazon has tons of cables available. apple just trying to cash in on the beats name and cables. nothing special about them but the colorz
They are special because they are high margin products. Selling these is almost like printing money. That helps pad Apple’s bottom line and give a little extra wiggle room for other product margins.

Still doesn't support AirPlay 2, though, so any phone calls or other audio coming through the phone gets sent to the Pill, right?

Beats have always been as much bout fashion as they are about sound. Some Beat look pretty cool imo. I wish I could afford some to have when out and about.

Everyone know you should get a fiber optic USB C cable so that you can charge at the speed of light....those electrons are way too slow ...duhh!!!!

The drift speed of electrons is generally in the order of 10^−3 meters per second: Thats 1mm per soncond folks.

So, the commercial is trying to tell me that Beats now offers colored USB cables.
Just like Anker, Amazon, and other brands have been offering for years — but with a 50% markup.

It's always a bad sign when a company advertises something that is absolutely standard. This leads one to conclude that the rest of the product is below average.

I would purchase Apple branded accessories before purchasing the Beats branded one. Beats was always a stupid brand.

It’s a good-quality woven cable, presumably made to the same quality standards as Apple ones.

The problem with buying cheap generic cables is the quality is typically really poor. It’s frustrating how many of them fail or become unreliable after a just a few months of use! Where as Apple’s cables work for years and rarely have any problems.

However, it’s a bit sad that the Beats cable costs 75% the price of the Apple cable, for 75% of the length, and yet it only supports 60W charging, not 240W like the Apple one?
