The Apple silicon cases for the base 17 model are so muted in colour apart from the yellow one; they also do this Beats one here but is it basically just a rebranded Apple one? Is it the same material, feel etc..?

the Beats branded silicone is a hard (feeling) type of silicone.
the apple branded silicone is a soft (feeling) type of silicone.
the two are different products and are likely to have two different protection ratings as well.

Just a heads up on the Beats case, personally I'm getting on with it better than the Apple cases. It's quite a bit less grippy but feels much harder wearing and you don't get lint, fingerprints on it as others have stated. The feeling is quite smilar to the matt finish on the rear of the phones.

Having had the softer Apple silicone cases which begin to fall apart after a few months it does feel this will stand up much better. I also like how the bottom is open as it feels better swiping up on the screen to go home etc.

To be honest it's a shame they don't make Apple versions of these, I miss seeing the Apple logo on the back!

The reviews for Beats cases on Amazon aren't very good. They're losing their appeal.

Noticed mine is chipping/coating coming off around the camera plato - it’s not even been my primary case. Not impressed.
