Received my blue pair today. I have a big head and am not an audiophile. I've never had the AirPods Max but have had every other gen of AirPods, including my favorites, the APP2. So below is with that context.

The fit is really good. The ear pieces are really soft and feel great. There isn't an inward vice feel like I get with many other headphones. The only con is I exude heat so the ear pieces are a bit warm. I haven't had over ear headphones before so didn't know what to expect there. This is an area where the AirPods Max might be better for me as they look more breathable. Will give these some time to see.

They feel pretty sturdy. They're plastic with metal hinges like always so a good balance of weight to strength. Very similar construction to my Solo 3s. Too early to know if there are any weaknesses but seems tight and proper out of the box.

Sound wise they seem great. Again, I'm not an audiophile, but I like to have separation in the sound and have had no complaints thus far listening to a mix of rock and hard rock. I'm not a big bass guy so glad they sound more "even". Spatial audio works as expected. I haven't tried head tracking as I found that annoying with the APP2 so immediately turned it off.

I watch 3-4 hours of content on the AppleTV each night and use my APP2 with great results. I have to stick to Apple or Beats for Atmos content so it was these or the APM if I wanted to not have the constant adjustment of the earbuds in my ears. These sound very similar to my APP2 but a bit wider soundstage.

Summary - everything I expected and no complaints thus far.

You can blame physics for that. Any over-ear headphone that covers your ears will eventually get warm because of the constant skin contact and the clamp. The cup padding material can affect how quickly things get warm, but it’s inevitable.

I sold my 2.5 year old APM. I mostly used them for traveling for Work and a lot for 3-4 long haul flights a year.
As APM2 will most likely also not be foldable I am looking forward for the Beats Studio Pro in Navy. Unfortunately they are not orderable yet in Europe.

I just picked up a pair of the Beats Studio Pros and prefer the material of the ear cups to my APM and I also get warm easily. I find the APM fabric material to get itchy if I get warmer whereas the Beats Studio Pros don't get itchy but a bit sticky, which I don't mind as much. I find I constantly have to lift of the ear cups of the APM to itch.

Bought them and just returned them. They sound mediocre at best, the transparency mode is bad, they get way too hot and the driver touches my ears due to how shallow the cups are, but the biggest killer was that my AirPods Pro 2 are better in pretty much every regard. Most importantly sound quality. Since I’m only in the Apple ecosystem, this was an easy choice to return.

I'm on day two of trying them out. They are so much like the Studio 3, so that's good and bad. I had the issue of my Studio 3's plastic cracking by the ears. Maybe this is upgraded, but the design looks exactly the same. So, AppleCare is a must. They are about the same comfort as the Studio 3, so I'm used to that. Transparency isn't as good as the AirPods Pro 2, but it's nice to have vs the Studio 3. I did hook up to my Ipad Pro via USB-C and yes, I can tell the difference with Lossless audio. I was actually really impressed (Hotel California sounded great). I took one call on them, and the person said I sounded like I was in a well. I switched to my AirPods Pro 2 and it was a lot better to the caller. I also hooked up to my Windows Laptop for a Teams call via USB. Sounded fine, but I couldn't hear myself speak. Strange. I can hear myself in my Jabra headset... I'm just not sure if in the end it's enough to make it worthwhile. Going to give it another few days.

Returned mine.
Like the sound of my APM so much more, in my option there's a really big difference in spatial audio, specially in movies / tv shows and that what I use them a lot for. Just wish the APM would feel as light and comfortable as the Studio Pro on my head did.

Still trying to decide if I want to keep them. I'm not an audiophile but watch 4 hrs on the Apple TV each night so sound/spatial audio is a big factor - and why I have these or the APM as options. I'm going to get a pair of APMs today to compare and contrast. Will return whichever I don't like as much.

Really? So spatial audio sounds different with movies etc on APM?

Going back and forth with APM and Studio Pro all day across music, tv, and movies. Broader spectrum or soundstage on APM makes things sound more immersive. I actually find the Beats more comfy, but I have a big head. Probably going to keep the APM and return Beats. They just seem a tad flat, if that makes sense.
