Apple-owned Beats today introduced new limited-edition Studio Buds designed in collaboration with Amsterdam-based, African-inspired fashion brand Daily Paper.

In a tweet, Beats said the custom Studio Buds are inspired by Daily Paper's spring/summer 2022 clothing collection, which celebrates hip-hop culture from the 1970s to 1990s. The earbuds have a white, black, and red color scheme with Daily Paper branding.

The limited-edition Studio Buds will be available to order this Thursday, May 26, but Beats did not provide any specific availability information. Pricing was also not disclosed, but the standard Studio Buds retail for $149.99 in the United States, and limited-edition Beats typically retail for the same price as standard Beats.

Beats Studio Buds launched in June 2021, with standard color options including white, pink, gray, blue, black, and red. The wireless earbuds feature a compact round design without any "stems" dropping below the ears, active noise cancellation with up to five hours of listening time per charge, hands-free "Hey Siri" support, IPX4-rated sweat and water resistance, Find My support, and a USB-C wired charging case.

If I wanted ear buds that look like it got tagged on, I'd make my own by passing the case around to a handful of high school kids. ?‍♂️

That looks like the inside wall of a school bathroom stall. But will less profanity, and far fewer phalluses.
You think school bathroom wall,

I see this as amateur graffiti on walls and a lot more sanitary. Wonder where your reference is based on, curious if the roots of the company being collaborated had any affect on your choice of view.

These look better than the standard and always Apple typical boring colour choices, even if Beats gets more colour choices than Apples own single shade branded in-ear headphones.

these are so ugly. i still dont know why apple bought beats. biggest misstep imo.

I believe something called Apple Music was built off the Beats streaming music platform. Pretty sure they've done ok with that and have been profitable enough on the hardware end as well. Not to mention eliminating a competing brand.

apple would be profitable with or without "beats".

Beats made them more profitable more easily and took market share away from a competing brand. It wasn't a misstep it was a smart acquisition that will continue to generate revenue way above what they spent to acquire them. Go read up on it.
beats would be in a losing battle in the long run anyway. it couldve been ANY company. and apple would still outlast them and profit.

Let me requote myself since you didn't seem to read what I wrote.

The key is it was easier for Apple to acquire Beats and save a ton of time in setting up the platfrom, curated playlist etc. This allowed apple to bring AM to market faster before everyone was with spotify etc making it harder to bring customers to AM. Which there a still a lot of people who wont leave Spotify Google music etc. They also probably got some tax breaks with the acquisition being an expense.

They started making money faster this way vs building from the bottom up. And they also still sell beats hardware. Maybe not to you but still lots of people into beats.

I'm not arguing they could have made a good music streaming themselves but would have taken longer acquiring still made sense.
