I tried this question in the iPhone forum and there were no responses.

If I pay the $99 to join the standard program to become a developer today:

1. Do I have to pay again next year or is that the price for a lifetime membership?
2. Will I still have to pay the $9.95 to upgrade my iPod Touch's OS to 3.0?
3. If I want to develop for the iPhone platform, am I at a disadvantage if I only own an iPod Touch?

Thanks in advance

1) You pay every year.
2) Not sure. Last year you only got links to the new iPod Touch firmware if you were paid up before it was released. So if that continues this year you will still have to pay $9.95
3) As long as you don't want to use any of the phone features in your apps, then no.
