I haven't used beejive because i just dont think a messaging app should be 14.99. Why is it so expensive? Aim does everything beejive would do for my needs, and its free? The only thing i know aim doesn't do that beejive does is it has landscape text mode. I wouldn't go as far as spending 10-15 dollars for it. i can use one hand.

And the fact that beejive supports yahoo messenger, and others. Why dont people just use aim? its free???

great interface and some further goodies and it supports msn, which is all i use (seems msn is way more popular in europe than i the US). and they kept you online before there was push, which nobody else did (i have beejive since the first version).
it certainly is expensive, but worth it to me, as palringo sucks (free msn solution) and beejive is better than IM+ imho and i wouldn't care about these few bucks price difference anyway

Funny i'm in Canada and everyone I know is using MSN...I use gtalk/MSN I don't really know anyone who uses AIM..

If you just use AIM and can stand the UI on it, then use that. BeeJive has a far nicer UI and far more features.

The NEW aim for 3.0 supports landscape btw.

OP, I could make a similar sweeping statement:

No-one I know uses or has ever used AIM, or for that matter would want to associate with the crap that is AOL anyway. Everyone uses MSN as far as I'm concerned.

Because I have 79 contacts that only use Yahoo messenger.

And the Yahoo iPhone messenger app is not that good at all.

So BeeJive it is.

I got it for 9.99 and they are working on fixing Yahoo as we speak. (Yahoo changed their servers and BeeJive wasn't aware when they released the Push 3.0 version.)

it is okay if you can't afford the app but it is well worth the money.

So just save some money and become one of us.

Beejive is just plain better. More features, better UI. Besides, $9.99 isn't that much money.

Have all IM forwarded to SMS

Forgive my naivete here, not much of an IM expert. Wouldn't it be better to just get unlimited text plan? I have a family plan and it's only 35 dollars for all five AT&T users. I have my AIM, Yahoo IM forwarded straight to my SMS number. It's on everyday and 24/7 and no need to refresh the connection. It's always connected.

Hey thanks!! I didnt know that. Im definitely going to buy this app right now.

let me get this straight. you were argueing that it's unreasonable to buy beejive (with all it's features and supported protocols and so on) and now you are going to pay for AIM just to get landscape? well whatever makes you happy

Hmmm...$10 once vs. an extra $15 a month every month...I'm going to go with noooooooo on this one.

I use Beejive because it seamlessly combines AIM, Google Talk, MSN, and Facebook, and the interface is second-to-none.

Does the AIM app keep you logged in after you close it? I have a suspicion it doesn't... Or at least not for more than a few minutes.

Beejive costs some money because it's EXCELLENT.

I don't know ANYONE that has bought beejive and regretted it.

Yes it does. Still, the UI blows though.
