I’ve been playing around with the new iOS 11 PB 9 Apple Maps feature, Tap Tap + on my 1st gen iPad Pro. This is a new, and I believe much easier way to zoom in and out in the map app. You double tap the map keeping your finger on the map after the second tap. Now you can zoom in or out by sliding your finger up or down the screen. I find it infinitely more accurate than the old “pinch in/pinch out” previous method.
Try it - I think you’ll like it.
The one thing I think would make it better is if it would zoom in or out using where your finger is at the start as the center of the zoom. Then you wouldn’t have to shift the View after zooming.
