Been Trying for 8 hours ....Please help

I just bought an IPhone 3gs from ebay and the person told me that he was running it on 3.1.3 and never jailbreak it. The phone is currently in recovery mode. (Itunes with USB showing)

I tried to download Itunes 9.1 and jailbreak it with 3.1.3 and pwnage tool but getting 1600 errors...

Please help me I have tried to get it through 3.1.2 but still doesnt work...Please Please Please help


I dont know what to do.

I have older bootroom and i want to put IoS4 and unlock it for Tmobile.
 
please help....I have no clue what to do?

My phone was on 3.1.3 but now its on itune with USB and none of the itunes are letting it to even download 3.1.3...What do I do?

It came and had Itunes sign with USB and now it is in recovery mode.

By the way how do i activate it with AT&T card?

I dont know why the Phone would be on recovery mode when you recieved it, maybe the guy mess something up with it and didnt know what to do so he sold it? If thats the case, report him to paypal (if you actually paid him with paypal) I heard paypal almost always help the buyer and ***** the Seller, so you can get your money back after you send the phone back to him or whatever...

Not sure if its restored to 3.1.3 and just not activated or if the seller was on 3.1.3 and did the erase all data and settings and now its in recovery mode and needs a restore.
If its the 2nd all you can do is restore to official 4.0 and just sit back and wait for a new JB.

As Latinist said earlier , it's not that sprit stops a 4.0 Custom FW; it just doesn't enable it .
To restore to a pwned 4.0 you must already be pwned. Sprit can't do it.
