I picked up a used Macbook Pro 15" 2008 hoping to fix it and serve as my backup laptop. The only issue with it is any time the sound card is active you can hear a constant beeping/hissing. You do hear whatever you are supposed to hear clearly though. So say music is playing, it sounds fine but you hear a constant beep or hiss to go along with it.

I've reset PRAM, reinstalled the OS and I'm leaning towards a hardware issue. Any other steps I might take to resolve this? Google'd but couldn't find much on this specific scenario.

My next step is opening the machine up and inspecting the Logic Board for any obvious signs of damage and also disconnecting and reconnecting all related connections under the hood.
