My buddy spilled beer on his white MacBook. After waiting a few days to turn it on to make sure the liquid had dried up, he ended up with some beer in the LCD, and a few keys that don't work.

What are the chances of fixing these?
Regarding the keys - if I take off the top keyboard/trackpad assembly, damp the beery areas with a wet cloth and let it dry, might some of the keys start working again?

As for the LCD - does anyone have any tips for getting liquid out of it?

Any help appreciated...
Lee Tom

The best thing to do with any liquid that isn't water is to immediately get the thing apart and blow it out with CO contact cleaner (the electrical stuff, not the eyeball stuff ;) ).

Waiting for beer (or soda, coffee, etc) to dry in there is sort of a death sentence, as the residue those things leave tends to short stuff and release the magic smoke that computers run on. :D
