Before I trash them, free B&W 450 parts anyone?

I have in my loft 2 complete 450 MHz Power Mac G3 B&Ws, each with 128MB RAM, 9GB SCSI hard drive, 16MB ATI cards etc.
One of the cases has the bottom feet parts missing but the other is OK.

They are destined for the trash as I haven't any possible use for them, but are there any parts from the cases downwards that anybody would find useful?

I'm unsure of their working status as they came as part of a job lot but I was told by the seller they are OK.

I am in the UK so if not close enough to meet up I would just need postal costs. The highest cost would be no more than about £12 for a whole case, by ParcelForce.

Hoping this will help someone in need...

Might send a PM to Gotfrey. He needs a video card. He's in Wales, but that's closer to you then it is to me!
 
Shikes. I need case parts but shipping what I need would be expensive over the Atlantic :(

If shipping is reasonable enough I'd need these:
Plastic Motherboard Tray (goes under the motherboard and locks the side of the case)
All 4 Handles
Dual Hard Drive bracket
Front Plastic (thing that goes over the CD Drive/Zip Drive)
Side Panels + Screws to them

And possibly the SCSI cable cause I want to get the 9GB HDD hard drive that originally came with it working!
 
I would like one of the Rage PCI graphics cards if it's still available - I'm also in the UK so postage shouldn't be very much. If you send me a PM we could work out payment for the postage.

Very expensive - I had the stupid thought of getting a quote to ship the whole case by sea - more than £100 :eek: so I'll try get an estimate for just the parts.
If you're not in a rush, sea is cheapest but takes a month.

From memory I think you're just round the M25 from me?

Has he tried PMing you? He sent me a PM about asking you for one of the G3's straight up.
 
Negative to that, maybe my PMs are not working.

I've just tried again and PM says user Gotfrey not found !!

Do I need a higher post count to do this?

If any problems I will have to try another method of contact.

Man, why'd it have to be so much! My issue is ebay doesn't even have a full B&W case :( let alone the parts I need
 
I have now discovered by looking properly that they are both Server G3s so probably 256 mb RAM inside http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_server_g3/specs/macserver_g3_450_bl.html, in essence the same as the Power Mac.
They both have zip drives, CD Rom, 9GB SCSI HDD, 2 sticks of RAM (2 x 128 I assume), ATI Rage Pro 128 with 16MB, SCSI card and what looks like a parallel port card.

I also have an Apple Studio Display from the same era, working condition unknown and without PSU. Model M7613 on back.
Someone has been fiddling with the wiring so I'm not sure what's going on.
See poor quality pics taken in dingy loft ...

Unfortunately that is still a quite a bit for the computer :( All I need is the case, I have errything else! And just invested like $60 into parts too lol so the less invested in the case the better! I don't want to wreck a working machine just for the case! :D

B&W parts

I would be interested on SCSI cards/hard drives/cpu/cd caddy/ cd front cover.
I've a g3 350 rev1 and live in Spain. I have one scsi card but no drives and was thinking about "upgrading" the g3 since long time ago. Just bought a G4 500 zif cpu but cant upgrade the firmware.

OT:For updating tiger I had to take the HD to a DA because not all the times the update works. With this workaround it updates to 10.4.11. and back to g3

Main interest SCSI card/HD, secondary cpu, cd caddy and cd front cover.

OK mate, I shall start ripping one box apart tomorrow (Sunday), and see what you asked for weighs. If the total comes to less than 2kg we should be fine for sending to you and maybe not too expensive.

UPDATE:-
One complete box reserved for one member (awaiting confirmation)

From the other machine, the graphics card is definitely reserved, and the parts for G4fanboy provisionally reserved as above.

The Studio Display will be dumped if no takers.
