Ever since the iOS 11 public beta GM, I've been experiencing a pesky little bug on my 6S. I listen to a lot of podcasts each day (mostly in Overcast, but I've also tested this in Apple Podcasts). When a notification comes in, the expected behavior is that audio playback volume will dip to allow the notification sound to be clearly heard. But the playback volume never ever dips in iOS 11 for the notification sound. Notification sounds blend right in with whatever other audio is happening on my iPhone — which is ultimately a little thing, but it's an annoyance for me since I like to depend on sounds to tell me when I need to pay attention to something.
For the record, I tried a complete wipe of the device and a fresh install of iOS 11. I've updated to the point zero one release. I've scoured Twitter, Apple support forums, Reddit, contacted the Overcast developer - even talked on the phone with Apple Support (they have escalated the issue and had a follow up call with me). So far I haven't found anyone else who hit this bug.
Here's the other really odd thing: when I'm listening to Music, the volume ducking works exactly as it's supposed to. Really puzzling.
Anyway, if anyone out there has heard anything about this, or is experiencing it themselves, let me know!
