Being able to use the apple remote without itunes being opened. It does not work

Hello,

I am on my bootcamp vista on my iMac. I have installed the bootcamp disk onto it and hotkeys on the apple keyboard and the play and pause button on the apple remote will only work if i am physically in itunes and it is the current open program. If it is minimised none will work. the volume works etc. It used to work when i put bootcamp on before but will not now.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this issue?

If I am reading this right, everything on the remote works in Vista (with iTunes closed) except for the play/pause button.

If this is the case, what do you intend to use the play/pause button for?

No, sorry. basically you cannot change tracks play or pause music in itunes without having the program physically opened. If it is minimised it will not work.
