Hi all

I currently have the AirPods Pro, iPhone 12 Pro and the Apple Watch series 4 and I am looking to get myself a wireless charger.

Now I am not sure whether to wait for the MagSafe Belkin Boost Charge Pro or just get the Mophie 3 in 1 Wireless Charging Stand.

Has anyone here got the Mophie, if so does it work fine with the iPhone 12?

The reasons why I am debating on the Mophie is because it has a few advantages:

1. Won’t create the circular mark in the Apple leather case.

2. Charges the watch in landscape night stand mode.

3. £40 cheaper for the white version than the boost charge pro.

4. Has individual lights for each device indication that they are charging.

5. More future proofed, considering how much a flop MagSafe currently is with all of its drawbacks, no fear of Apple ditching MagSafe in the future.

-

The only thing putting me off is a few reviews say that with the iPhone 12 it’s difficult to line it up just right with the charger, and it hasn’t got MagSafe (which I am not sure if it’s worth it).

The Mophie I am talking about is this one here

Does anyone know whether I need to buy a MagSafe charging puck to use with the upcoming Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3 in 1 stand, or if it comes with it? For $149.99 I'm thinking it should come with it.....

The wireless charger will have everything you need. There’s no way they’d make such an expensive 3 in 1 device & not have the charging pad on there..

MagSafe is future proof. It ain't going anywhere mate.

As you know from the other thread, I'm getting the Belkin and I suggest you do too. Also will charge your iPhone faster.

I really hope it is lol, I do think it will get refined in the future though tbh... especially in regards to circles appearing on the cases etc...

MagSafe is a gimmick and won't be in the next iPhone.

I think it will tbh, they wouldn’t have brought it to market just for 1 year, would be a complete waste of money for Apple.

The iPhone is going to go portless, likely not in 2021 but definately in 2022, and I do think that MagSafe is different enough from the competition for them to continue with it... I can see it becoming better over time though, a more refined product, ditching it altogether 10 months after the MagSafe duo has been released would destroy any chances of them selling any wireless charging options in the future as consumers won’t want to invest in any Apple wireless solution.

I think come 2022 the iPhone will come with the standard MagSafe puck in the box with the phone.

Has anyone seen the Belkin 3-in-1 Boost Charge Pro in the wild? They originally were hoping to get it out before the end of 2020, but that didn't happen. As far as I can tell, the only pictures or videos of it are by Belkin themselves, or, other promotional type content. I'm wondering if they ran into issues with it -- particularly with ensuring the magnet was strong enough to keep an iPhone from sliding off. Would be great to hear from anyone who has actually seen/used one of these...

Dummy model for some reason, which suggests to me that the product isn’t near ready. I think they announced early to steal some of the thunder from the MagSafe duo. Bet plenty people held out for it, especially over the Christmas period.

There seems to be an issue with the 3 in 1 charger from mophie charging the iPhone 12/pro/max. I have the 12 pro and it’s not working
