Having just received my Belkin BoostCharge Pro MagSafe charger just fifteen minutes ago from FedEx, I wanted to give my first impressions. First off, let's talk design. In person, this thing is quite beautiful and even a piece of art. Never would I have thought I'd be calling a wireless charger a piece of art, but the stainless steel arm is solid and your phone just floats there. I'm getting serious iMac G4 vibes with the silver and white finish. The entire unit is quite solid and has a good heft to it so any thought about it being top-heavy immediately goes out the window. The white base is a soft touch silicon material so your AirPods will stay in place so you don't wake up with the dreaded half-charged AirPods.
Now lets's talk functionality. This is the best alternative to the Ill-fated AirPower charger that the world was not graced with. This is the AirPower charger I would imagine Jony Ive and Steve Jobs would talk over a Sushi meal. Having all three of my most used devices charging without fumbling to place my phone on the right spot will be one less thing to think about. Another added bonus of this charger is the LED that changes color depending on charging status, so if the light is Amber, it'll let you know your AirPods are misaligned, or if your AirPods are charging correctly, the light will turn a steady white. While the 15w charging is a nice bonus, I only charge my phone at night, so I have not had any issues with the charging speeds of my prior wireless chargers.
Overall this charger is a home-run in my eyes, and at it's price point of $149, it needs to be. If you are deep into the Apple ecosystem, like I am and are crazy enough to spend that money on a charger. Join me in my insanity and take a look on Apple.com and take the plunge in luxurious charging. Feel free to ask me any questions about it.
