Has anybody been able to find this at a apple store or their local best buy? I really want one, but I prefer to go to the store and pick it up.

I've never seen Apple store sell other branded dock. Best Buy will probably get them soon, but seeing as they just came out it will take some time.

FYI, this dock doesn't include the lightening cable.

My brother got one of these not too long ago and he says it sucks. Mainly because when you lift the phone out of the dock, the lightning connector comes with the phone and does not stay affixed to the dock. A pretty big fail if you ask me. I suppose a solution could be to superglue the lightning dock to the dock but you shouldn't really have to do that.

Mine does the same thing. Cord comes out every time you lift the phone up. Poorly designed and quite the rip off.

This dock is available at the apple store on line and at the apple store at Grand Central in NYC (I picked mine up there). I've used it and haven't had a problem with the cable. I just held the base lightly when lifting the phone off the dock.

Yep, it sucks. It's a two-piece unit, and you have to use two hands to pull it out without separating the two pieces. Also, it can't be adjusted for the thickness of your case.

I got one a few days ago, it's not the greatest but it works. You do need to use two hands to get the phone out. I haven't had the cable come out, it just lifts up a little when you pull the phone out so have to push it back in. Not a big deal.

I managed to solve the plug problem by wrapping a piece of black electrical tape around the lighting port connector. The slight additional thickness allows the plug to stay in place when pulling out the iPhone.

I think I'm talking about a different problem. I like my docks to be stable, so I put QuakeHold on the bottom to hold them to my desk. Makes them solid as a rock. But when used with this Belkin dock, pulling up on the iPhone defeats the magnetic hold between the two pieces. I have to hold down the dock with one hand to pull out the iPhone with the other to keep that from happening. A dock should be one-handed easy in, easy out, IMHO.

I think because of the nature of the lightning port connector this is going to be the case for any dock. It's probably why Apple decided against making their own for the 5.

Similar issues, but opposite

I just got my Belkin dock, and like others here, I'm sorry I spent the money on it. In my case, there is a defect in the plastic insert that holds the lightning cable so that the phone cannot fit flush on the bottom and the audio plug will not insert completely. Belkin will accept a return, but they charge for return shipping, even though acknowledging that the unit is defective. Now I'm thinking that even when it works, it won't work—because of the points brought up on this forum.
