Has anyone had a chance to test or feel both of them. The Macallys are $29.99 vs. the $49.99 of the Belkin.

Is the feel or fit and finish that much better on the Belkin? I think thats the only question. I think we can all agree that we can put up with the Macally logo on the back for $20 less.

My video compare is processing on YouTube as I type this. End result for me = Belkin all the way! I'll post the link to video once it's completed.

The Belkin is much much better. Much easier to put on, it's much clearer. The Macally has a little yellowish tint to it and the material is cheap and roughly cut with sharp edges.

So you have both? I'd like to see proof otherwise, this is just some opinion based on nothing.

Edit: The belkin also seems to have changed it's cut a bit ... which is a problem if you ask me.

Yes i have both.. Macally sent me their Flexfitpad and the MertoLpad, i was talking about the Flexfitpad. And i purchased the Belkin. Again you think you know it all
This is what i do.

I would agree on all points except the last two as I have not noticed a yellow tint to mine and although there are some rough appearing edges they are not sharp or really rough to the touch.

It's a decent case to go for if you are trying to cut costs and not spend the $49 on the belkin, but its really a different style. My concern (like I state in the video) is around how the case is put together, only time will tell if the silicon stays attached to the hard back when the case is taken on and off.

Edit: Just noticed you were talking about the other Macally, not the one I have ;)

What is the MertlLpad? Google has nothing. I don't know it all, hence the question. You get the point of a question right? I don't think unboxing videos makes you much of an expert.

Still not catching the name of the other Macally item MertoLpad? If this is what you do then can you nail the product name?

It's it a hard semi clear plastic that has a grainy texture to it and the black part a rubber that's very very stiff and makes it super hard to put on the iPad let alone take it off again. I wouldn't buy it. Doesn't completely cover the bezel in some parts. It would have been a great case if they made the black rubber much softer like silicone.

The Belkin Vue (now) doesn't cover the metal bezel now either. ;) This is what I do.

First of all the black rubber does fully cover some parts of the bezel and some it doesn't so it look very ugly because it's not clear. Now for the Belkin, mine covers the bezel fully and all around. I would say it's worth the $50 because it's the best case out there for this style.

The Belkin is great on the iPhone/iPod Touch. However, (search these forums) someone re-bought the Vue and the "new" cut doesn't have that lip. Just sayin'.

Looks like mine doesn't have that lip as well but i don't see the problem? It still feels sturdy and great. Very rounded edges. Actually with the Flexpad the edges would come off when you hold it unlike with my Belkin.

can the nobs on the back also work when you try to prop iPad against something? i mean its quiet slippery, can it get more secure?

// and thanks for nice review

Very interesting how quick everyone seems to hate on the Macally. I just dont get it. $20 cheaper is pretty signifigant for a "very similar" case that I almost think looks better. But only you guys know how they feel in person. Does the Metrolpad just feel that much cheaper than the Belkin? I would almost think that the harder back Macally would feel more expensive.. no?

I have the newer Belkin one too and it does cover the metal bezel, it just doesn't extend over some of the glass like the original one did. I think that $13 ebay case is the best deal right now.

well metrolpad came out as a winner on the iLounge, so it cannot be so bad .. i hope (my is somewhere over the atlantic now)

It's great after you finally installed it on the iPad but it's very hard to put on and to take off. Not worth it imo.

I really don't understand the biased judgments against the Macally Metrolpad. I've had mine for two weeks now, and it's pretty much perfect. The silicon covers evenly and completely over the silver bezel, and blends in nicely with the black border of the iPad. I saw a review or it that complained abou the uneven edge, but I can see in that video that the case was not applied properly. installation is not as hard as people claim it to be, so if you're on the border about it, go ahead!
