Ok, I purchased a belkin hi-speed usb hub with dreams of hooking up my two USB Drives (western digital my book and a seagate) to the hub and freeing up ports on my I-MAC core duo. The mac recognizes the hub (I see it in system preferences) but will not recognize anything attached to the hub. And I mean anything. Any thoughts?

I tell you I am beginning to wonder if the I-Macs just have issues with their firewire and usb ports. My Seagate use to work via firewire (400) and then the mac just stopped recoginizing it. The Mac also refused to recognize my brand new my-book as a firewire (400) device. (By not recognize, I mean they don't show up in system profiler or disk utility.) Strangely enough, I have a firewire IOMEGA drive that works like a charm on the firewire port.

Oh I forgot to mention. The drives and the hub each have their own power supplies.
