Belkin today announced the launch of the Stage PowerGrip, an accessory that pairs a camera grip with a power bank.

The PowerGrip includes a 9,300 mAh battery that can provide a full charge to Apple's iPhones. Included magnets allow it to attach to the back of a MagSafe-compatible iPhone.

It can charge at 7.5W wirelessly, but plugging an iPhone in with the included retractable USB-C cable speeds up charging. With the wireless charging capabilities, the included cable, and an extra USB-C port, up to three devices can be charged at one time. The charger is limited to 15W total, so it's best used to charge an iPhone and smaller devices like an Apple Watch or AirPods.

The PowerGrip connects to an iPhone over Bluetooth, and a button on it can be used as a camera shutter button for snapping photos. It can be used in multiple orientations for filming, or it can serve as a stand. There's also a connector so it can be attached to a tripod mount. A digital display provides a readout on remaining capacity.

Belkin's Stage PowerGrip can be purchased from the Belkin website or from Amazon.com for $80.

I thought it looked familiar.

More battery capacity on this one, though.

Glad to see more solutions in this category. The snap grip pro has so many complaints for something that seems so straightforward.

This might be more interesting to me if it could somehow fold down flatter to fit less intrusively in a pocket or small bag. Probably most power banks are flat-shaped (as opposed to cylinders etc), which is generally better for portability, and while I would appreciate better grip/ergonomics while taking pictures with my phone, it's not a huge issue to the point that I'd be willing to carry a bulky oddly/shaped device to correct it. It's more like, if my power bank that I'm carrying anyway could also transform its shape to improve picture-taking ergonomics, then I'd probably buy that one over one that doesn't.

Probably not a simple engineering feat though.

Regarding magsafe accessories, Apple should make a version of it's iPhone air magsafe battery but with a dslr camera like the xiaomi modular optical system

also, it'd be nice if they would make a magsafe detachable version of their upcoming foldable that can snap apart and snap together in one second, when we don't want or need the extra bulk, or when we want the extra screen real estate

I've been waiting for modular iPhones/cameras. Our current camera phones are so bulky as phones yet so limited as cameras (albeit the progress within the limitations has been amazing). I've been quite frustrated by this. I would even be willing to have a dedicated phone AND dedicated camera if they were both as ultra portable as possible and synced somewhat easily. Apple's new iPhone Air helps with half of that equation, but the problem is the ultra portable camera market is desolate. Modularity might be my only hope, but fortunately it's also potentially more ideal. Really glad Xiaomi took this step; I hope it's very successful.

I'll see your ShiftCam and raise you with a Leica:

$329 for a grip ... with no additional/better lenses?

Have they lost their mind?

That's not all:

The Leica Lux app is free to download, but users must pay a premium for complete access to all the app’s features. It is $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually. However, those who shell out for the new Leica Lux Grip will receive one free year of the Leica Lux app.

It's Okay, but i wish i didn't buy it

After a few months of use, I wish I had never purchased the Lux Grip. The Grip has had its fair share of charging and connectivity issues. The Leica App isn't as intuitive as it could be, and I often wonder if the quality is any better than that of the native iPhone camera app. If this grip worked with the iPhone camera app, I'd be more inclined to use it. As a camera lover, this has underwhelmed me and is now collecting dust. I wish I had my money back.

Bought one on tema that has a light and a mirror for selfie was as well, a detachable shutter button for long distance use for 14 bucks.
