I have a Belkin PowerHouse. It stopped charging my iPhone 7+ after the iPhone was updated to iOS 12.0. The Series 1 AppleWatch also stopped working. I am working with Belkin on a replacement. However I am reading reviews that this MFi dock is not compatible with new iPhones (iPhone XS, etc.) Belkin said it might also be an iOS 12 issue.

Are their requirements for MFi products to work with all versions of iPhone? Meaning a lightning charger should work with any lightning compatible iPhone, etc.

I have the Valet one (it was supposed to be the more premium version of the Powerhouse) and it doesn’t work with my iPhone XS Max and their customer support didn’t provide me any reason for it but I’m still trying to get a replacement. As far as my knowledge goes, yes a MFI product should work with all models of iPhone that use that connector. That might be the reason they discontinued both the Valet and Powerhouse and are introducing a new Powerhouse in November that is compatible with the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR (which in my opinion is just a cashgrab since I don’t see no reason for the current dock to not work besides Belkin purposely wanting to).

I agree. I am still within the warranty. If their product is unable to work on a new iOS and/or hardware, it should be replaced with a working model.
Belkin is shipping me the same model....but I am not hopeful.
If they do try a money grab, I would think this would go against Apple's MFi terms?

That’s exactly how I feel about it, especially for a product that costs 100$ (the Valet used to cost 129$). You might have luck since you’re rocking the 7+ and even if it doesn’t work if you put enough pressure they might do a refund. In my case though it seems highly unlikely they’ll do anything to all the Xs owners. I’ve heard of someone that got 20% discount to buy the buy the new ones but no way in hell I’ll spend more money on a charging dock.

It doesn't appear to be the IOS. I had a 6S+ running on IOS 12 and it charged fine on the Belkin charger. I just got the XS and it doesn't work properly. It cycles on/off for charging. I get a beep every time it does. Not a good thing when it is on my night stand. I've sent Belkin an email asking if our chargers can be retrofitted since a new version is coming in November that is compatible with the XS on up. I also asked if we can get a discount on a new one if applicable.

Yeah that was what I feared... mine did the same thing the first few times and now it just doesn’t charge at all or if it does it turns off after a while and charges intermittently... did they answer you back? I sent an e-mail yesterday asking the same and they haven’t replied back.

I have not heard anything back yet.

I sent a Facebook message and got a 20% off code (one time use only) for the upcoming watch/iPhone combo dock, but only the lightning charger, not the wireless version. It’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but not all that great. At least I got a couple years of use out of the Valet I paid $130 for. Not sure if I want to buy another Belkin product but I don’t see many equivalent products (I really like having only one power cord to deal with).

I agree with you. I've also sent a FB message after reading your post. I'm waiting for a response.

Me neither, they haven’t replied to my last e-mail despite the 24/7 support they supposedly have...
I'll give them 24-36 hours and if I don't have a response, I'll reply to one of their public messages on the review pages of Amazon.

Wow you’re lucky! I still would be cautious of spending so much money again on one of their products, especially saying what happened to the dock. However it’s still unacceptable that a 130$ dock only lasted 2 years when the charging port didn’t change at all... Sounds like planned obsolescence to me...
by the way I know you’ve said you wanted to have just one cord but have you considered the advantages of those 3 in one docks that amazon has? I’m really considering one since supplying my own cables and chargers will cut the possibility of this ever happening again.

Yeah that’s a good idea! I’d also do the same on their website since they seem to listen actively to the complaints on their product pages... I’d send them a message on Facebook but tbh I have no desire of spending another 80$, so the discount code has no use for me.

Did they give you the code right away? I got a response and they said that they could give me a discount when the charger comes available. They wanted to know if I was agreeable to that. I've responded but haven't heard anything else yet.

It took a little while to get the code, a few hours.
