I just bought a new 21.5in iMac, a 2.9ghz i5, 8GB ram, Nvidia Geforce 750m.

I also have a Belkin Router F9K1105 v1 of which I like to Run on the 5GHZ band, For some reason when i connect my iMac to my 5Ghz channel, going to youtube kicks me off my router. I can still access the 2.4ghz band but to get back to actually CONNECT to the 5GHZ band I have to unplug and restart my router. The router logs show nothing indicating a fault when i got to youtube.com, and I've tried restoring factory defaults. Is my router bad?

Can anyone recommend a method of trouble shooting? I'm running the latest and greatest Yosemite.

Unless you absolutely need 2.4 GHZ how about just running solely 5 GHZ band? A lot of newer hardware supports 5 GHZ, a lot of Apple products do. Less inference flying around. Better yet, get your iMac connected via Ethernet!
