iPod Belkin TuneBase problems

Hi,

I have just got a Belkin TuneBase. When I go to plug it into the cigarette lighter it won't fit! It simply won't go all the way in!

I have a ford focus estate. Any ideas? This is driving me crazy! Aren't all cigarette lighters supposed to be the same?
