Hi All,
Heres one for you...
iPhone 3G (OS 3.1) + TomTom App + Belkin TuneCast Auto with Clearscan
The tunecast charges and sends the audio via FM to your radio, so the audio directions from the TomTom also go through the stereo speakers. So far, so good. However, if you don't have music playing and just want the direction instructions, the TuneCast stops transmitting after about a minute or so of no audio being sent from the iPhone. I know its cutting out as if I tune the radio in initially after setting it, it works fine and there is nothing in the background when no audio is coming out, but after a minute of silence, you then get static on the same frequency. When the TomTom says its next instruction, the TuneCast wakes up and sends the audio through again - however, there is a slight lag while it wakes up so it cuts off the first second or so of the instruction.
I was thinking of making a silent audio track as an MP3, playing that in the iPod bit of the iPhone and then have the TomTom over that, atleast that should keep the frequency open between the TuneCast and the radio - unless you geniuses have any other ways of stopping it cutting off, or disabling the output via the dock connector so the audio can come out the iPhone speakers and the TuneCast is only used for charging.
Cheers
Jason
