Belkin USB 2.0 F5U222 PCMCIA, TiBook and 10.5.2

So, the combination above is not working for me. I have bought a new DSLR and wanted to transfer pictures at speed from camera to TiBook (which only has USB 1.1 built in). There seems to be plenty of people who have the same card with the TiBook with 10.4.x but not 10.5.x.

Basically, the computer doesn't see the card. I slide it in (making sure it's well seated). I plug in a thumb drive or other device, no recognition on either the device or the TiBook that anything has happened.

There is some mention about "3rd party drivers" for this card but I've been unable to find anything online so far.

Anyone used this card with either TiBook or 10.5.x?

I have a Belkin F5U222 on my 1 GHz TiBook running 10.5.2, and while it functions, it has sleep issues. If I have the card plugged in, my machine will freeze when auto-sleeping, and even if I power off the card from the menubar and remove it, the sleep issue persists. If you are able to find some kind of 3rd party driver for the card, please let me know, as it's starting to annoy the living daylights out of me.
